Analog ARP Odyssey MkII Big Sound

I just had my ARP Odyssey completely refurbished, its like new and I am very happy to have it working properly in the studio. I bought this one in the 1980's using it when I was gigging. Korg is making a copy of the ARP Odyssey and I think Behringer has their version of the Odyssey. They dont come close to the orginal! Check us out: Binary Recording Studio

Demo your songs

I have bands demo their songs before they come in to record. This gives me a change to listen to what they plan on doing and talk to them about the arrangment etc.... It make a big difference when they come in to record. Binary Recording Studio

TTL patchbay, Binary Recording Studio

The patchbay is something you use every time you record with little recognition. It is the brain center for everything you do. How it is put together and the quality of the patchbay allows better work flow. At Binary we have a TTL patchbay which stands for Tiny Telephone Line. These were first used to make Telephone connections. One of the advantage of the TTL patchbay is size, more patches per rack size. 48 input/output per 1 inch rack. Snare drum sound at Binary Recording studio

Always looking for the unique sound in the studio.  Used this mic the other day, it's the Bob Baker "The Price is Right". game show host mic.  Added to the Shure Sm57 on the snare drum, giving it a little bit of distortion and punch.   Binary Recording Studio

SSL Fusion at Binary Recording Studio

We were given the Solid State Logic Fusion processor by a great friend of the Studio.  This device adds some amazing color / tone to a 2 mix or individual stems.  Looking forward to using this on some of our mixes.  Binary Recording Studio

Analog Board Neotek, Binary Recording Studio

A lot of recording people are doing these days is done on a laptop which is an amazing time in the development of the technology we are using.  Over a short period of time we have gone from analog recording to digital. I have been in the biz long enough to see this change.   I still like using a recording console!

Piano Recording at Binary Recording Studio

Recording piano's to represent the quality of a great piano and player is different every time.  I have seen that some studios / engineers have a one way method that they use to capture the sound.

I have found that the piano which is really a percussion instrument sounds different with every player.  It really depends on the style and how the player strikes the keys of the instrument.  One player seems to play in such a way that the sound is brighter or darker.

This require possible different mics / setup then what you may have used before.  Binary Recording Studio
