Binary Recording Studio plug-in's

We like the Abbey Road J37 tape simulation plug-in.  Use it sometimes on the two mix output or on a vocal to warm it up a bit.  Binary Recording Studio in Bellingham Wa.

Acoustic Guitar Recording at Binary Recording Studio

Recording acoustic guitar is not as easy as most think.  To get a recording without a lot of finger noise, even harmonic content, natural warm sound, etc.... takes some experimenting. Try some different mic's, just because you got a good sound with a mic on one guitar does not mean it's going to work every time.  I don't mic to close either, give it a little space to let the sound develop.

Recording Cello, at Binary Recording Studio

We use a ribbon mic about a foot away from the F hole of the instrument, sometime a room mic also about 6 feet away.  Really depends on the part they are playing.  Binary Recording Studio

Recording Classical Guitar, Binary Recording Studio

It's important to not mic to close.  The sound develops a few feet from the sound hole. Mic about a foot or two away from the guitar and then use a room mic to get the sound.  Binary Recording Studio
